In our braided belt courses you will craft a braided leather belt, for yourself or for someone else. We use high-quality vegetable-tanned leather and equally high-quality, solid buckles. You choose the leather or colour and decide on the metal buckle from various widths (32, 35 or 40 mm). Please select these options when registering so that we can prepare the appropriate material. Please see Note 1 below.
You will work under precise guidance, with full explanations, using exactly the techniques, tools and leather that we use ourselves. We prepare the braiding leather for you. You braid the main part and cut out the remaining pieces. Then you learn how to trim and polish the edges of the leather. Finally, you attach the sturdy buckle and sew the leather with a strong saddle stitch.
The duration of the course is calculated to usually be sufficient to complete one belt. Depending on the skill of the participants, a belt may be finished before the full number of hours or may not be completed. Particularly skilled participants may not need the full number of hours and can leave the workshop early. Even if you may not need the full number of hours, the course fee paid always applies without deductions.
Unfinished belts will be completed by us after the course; there are no additional costs for you, except for postage if you cannot pick up the finished belt yourself and need us to send it to you.
We reserve the right to cancel courses if the required number of participants is not reached.
