In our intensive block course you will make our popular Mexico sandals. You can choose whether to make the model with one, two or three straps.
If you want to make the sandals for someone else, please see Note 1 below.
You will work under precise guidance, with full explanations, using exactly the techniques, tools and leather that we use ourselves. It begins with the footprint and the individual shape of your feet. Did you know that the left and right foot differ in almost everyone? After the impression, you build up the sole and the footbed and learn how to work with leather. Cutting, roughening, skiving -- what is that anyway? -- placing the metatarsal pad in the right position, pre-punching and sewing, and finally threading and braiding the straps and fitting them to the foot, all without buckles or clasps.
The duration of the course is calculated to usually be sufficient to complete a pair of sandals. Depending on the skill of the participants, the sandals may be finished before the full number of hours or may not be completed.
Unfinished sandals will be completed by us after the course; there are no additional costs for you, except for postage if you cannot pick up the finished sandals yourself and need us to send them to you.
We reserve the right to cancel beginner courses if the required number of participants is not reached.
